While most of my work is abstract in nature, I originally began my art journey in illustration. One of my childhood dreams was to work as an animator and I spent many over the years designing and drawing original characters.

I created this piece by layering acrylic paint and collage elements over a vibrant gouache background to create a unique piece that feels like a lost page from a storybook. How did we end up at the village pond? What happens after meeting friends there? Why is the frog wearing that hat? Is he attending a party? Or perhaps he's a wizard?

This bright and cheerful piece features a plaid background of blue, purple, and green, and is topped with white dots and a frog that appears somewhat grumpy despite wearing a particularly excellent hat. The caption, "One day he discovered Friends by the village pond," appears above the froggy friend and sets the scene for a whimsical tale. Already fitted into a rustic brown frame behind a protective pane of glass, it's ready to fill a gap on a gallery wall, accent a bookshelf, or add a pop of color to your desk.
