'Clown Shoes'

It was late April of 2026 when, after a break, I wanted to get back to painting. I found myself blocked, however, by fear.
"What if I paint something ugly?" I asked myself.
I sat with the question for a while and as I did, I watched as it evolved from a question to a challenge. What if I paint something ugly? On purpose.
I set to work, but by the end of the exercise I found that the piece wasn't really ugly at all. In fact, I actually liked it.
This bold and whimsical piece showcases vibrant teal, orange, green, and yellow amidst softer tones of pink and purple. Confetti-like in nature, this painting is a celebration of what can be accomplished when one has the courage to face their fears head-on. Already fitted into a minimalist black frame, it's ready to fill a gap on a gallery wall, accent a bookshelf, or add a pop of color to your desk.
